New playground coming to Swaledale
The Swaledale city council approved plans for a new playground at their last regular assembly earlier this month.
The plans include a purchase of monkey bars, a teeter totter, and balance beams, all totaling just over $5,500 in grants and more in fundraising by local kids.
The Troy Smeby memorial was also approved at the meeting. Smeby, a former Swaledale city councilman, passed away in a traffic accident in December of last year.
The bench, donated by the Smeby family, will be placed on a cement pad in front of the city office on Main Street.
