West Fork students learn leadership

West Fork High School students learned important lessons on leadership during a special leadership workshop through the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) on Friday.

“Whether you know it or not, you are a leader,” said Chad Elsberry, assistant director of IHSAA, as he talked with about 20 West Fork High School students from each grade.

West Fork High School Principal Clyde Tarrence set up this workshop, choosing students—especially seniors—who he knew would get the most out of the experience.

“These are powerful seniors,” Tarrence said. “They do it all.”

Tarrence praised the program and said that what really stands out to college recruiters is leadership.
