West Fork Middle School offers new resource for creative students

West Fork Middle School has a new resource to encourage creative problem solving.

Set up in the middle school’s library, West Fork teachers have been working diligently to establish a “Maker Space,” an environment for students to independently tackle projects at their own pace. Whether that means tinkering with electronics, crafting a cardboard diorama, sewing clothes, or producing a video, the Maker Space will have tools and space to enable kids in their hands-on learning.

“We want them to use their problem solving skills,” said Principal Tracy Peterson. “For a lot of students, that creative side is how they learn and how they show us how they are learning.”
