West Fork Board of Education picks legislative priorities

The West Fork Board of Education selected the legislative priorities for the school district over the 2017-18 school year during their meeting on July 24.

Every year, school districts throughout Iowa are asked to select four legislative priorities from a list of options provided by the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB). Those priorities are then submitted to the IASB to help guide the organization’s legislative and grassroots advocacy efforts. The board of education unanimously selected four that they believed reflect the needs of the West Fork Community School District.

“We looked through that list and kind of identified those that we feel are closely tied to our unique situation in our district,” said Superintendent Darrin Strike. “I’m thankful that the board that we have sees these things as needs for our district.”
