West Fork board delays staff and administrative contract approval

     Missing a tie-breaking board member to settle contentious votes, the West Fork Community School Board was forced to table multiple agenda items during their meeting on April 18.

     The first stalled agenda item of the evening concerned the plan to rent out space in the new wellness center for a physical therapist.

     At the previous meeting, the school board entertained a proposal from Kurt Walderbach about using the new athletic center to house a physical therapy clinic. At that meeting, the board asked Superintendent Darrin Strike to draft a contract that would allow Walderbach to open a branch of his Synergy Physical Therapy and Sports business within the building.

     However, when it came time for the board to approve the drafted rental agreement, board member Mary Schlichting raised concerns about the entire proposition.
