Warhawks win Corn Bowl Conference title

SHEFFIELD – Tied at 3 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, West Fork loaded the bases with two out to bring up one of its top hitters in senior Spencer Halloran.

Falling behind 0-2 in the count, Halloran found a way to work a walk to score Drew Engebretson, who led off the inning by reaching on a third strike passed ball for 4-3 victory over Rockford on Wednesday, July 2.

It set off a celebration for the Warhawks, who took lone possession of the Corn Bowl Conference with a 10-2 record in the CBC.
