Thornton welcomes Hopkey to the council

The Thornton City Council welcomed Mike Hopkey to the council during their regular meeting on Monday, September 10.

Hopkey will be serving out the remainder of Mike Younge’s term, who resigned from the council last month.

“I’m just glad to be here,” said Hopkey. In other business, the council moved forward with the purchase of new water meters for the city, approving a $61,225 purchase of 225 new meters. Once received, the city will begin making arrangements with residents to gradually phase in the new meters.
