Thornton City Council approves property sale

During its regular monthly meeting Monday night, the Thornton City Council took the next step in selling the former school land in the community.

Daryl Overson had expressed an interest in purchasing the land in order to construct a house and a storage area for supplies for his plumbing business.

The measure was subject to a public hearing and approval of the Council. During Monday’s meeting, the Council approved the sale of the land to Overson for $8,000 subject to contract revisions.

Once Overson signs the contract, the abstract for the property would be updated.

Dangerous dog ordinance The Council also discussed the possibility of updating its dangerous dog ordinance.
