Swaledale to host flu shots on Monday

The Swaledale City Council met on Monday, September 10 for their regular meeting at the city office.

At the meeting the council met with Cerro Gordo County Treasurer Pat Wright, who walked the council through the functions of the treasurer’s office. Wright is also serving as the interim County Auditor but left the task of explaining the auditor’s functions to Adam Wedmore, who is running for the position.

In other business, Public Works Director Greg Meier reported that a fire hydrant near the water tower needs to be repaired and the heater in the pump house needs to be replaced.

The council also discussed a proposal to remove the stop signs at the intersection of 6th Street and Main. After a lengthy debate, the council unanimously voted to deny the proposal.

Finally, it was noted that the Cerro Gordo County Health Department will be offering flu shots on Monday, September 24 at the town hall form 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
