Swaledale Debates Nuisance Policy
The Swaledale City Council talked water meters, nuisance properties, and holiday events during their regular meeting on Monday, October 13.
At the meeting Public Works Director Greg Meier relayed a request from Bob Schmitz of R&R Towing for the city to install a new water meter on his property so that he can have more water pressure. The water line that goes to Schmitz's property is a 3/4 inch line, but the water meter reduces that to 5/8ths. However, Meier noted that changing to a different meter would increase the flow of water, but not necessarily the amount of pressure.
"The higher the water is in the tower, the more pressure there is on the line," said Meier.
