"Stop the Bleed" West Fork educators to be trained on trauma response
Every teacher and para-educator at the West Fork Sheffield and Rockwell campuses will add a new skill to their arsenal: traumatic injury response training, according to administrators at the West Fork School Board meeting this month.
The new training course, called "Stop the Bleed," is designed to provide the teachers with the knowledge and skills to control hemorrhage following an injury, stated Rockwell Councilman and EMS Adam Wedmore.
"The training focuses on simple steps to take to keep the patient from bleeding out and allow time for emergency responders to provide care," said Wedmore. "This is a nation-wide effort to increase survival."
