Steve King conducts town hall meeting

Fourth District U.S. Congressman Steve King of Iowa conducted another in his series of town hall meetings last Wednesday afternoon at the Rockwell Community Center.

King, who is seeking re-election to his post, was greeted by protesters outside the Rockwell facility — the site of his Cerro Gordo County town hall gathering.

King’s appearance came a few hours after he made controversial remarks about rape and incest during a speech at before the Westside Conservative Club at Urbandale.

During the Urbandale speech, King was reported to have said, “What if we went back through all the family trees and just pulled those people out that were products of rape and incest? Would there be any population of the world left if we did that? Considering all the wars and all the rapes and pillages that has happened throughout all these situations, I know that I can’t say that I was not a product of that.”
