Sheffield to hold annual People in the Park

The Sheffield community will gather for its annual People in the Park celebration on Saturday, August 19, which will be hosted by the Sheffield Community Club.

This year’s celebration will be geared toward family-friendly activities, according to Carrie O’Connor, Sheffield Community Club treasurer.

The annual occasion will start off with a parade at 10:30 a.m. Fire departments from Sheffield, Rockwell, Thornton, Swaledale and Dougherty, local businesses and churches and Speaker of the Iowa House of Representatives Linda Upmeyer are expected to participate in it.
