Sheffield Area Farmers Market sees consistent participation

Now halfway through the summer season, the second year of the Sheffield Area Farmers Market has yielded stable results so far.

Since starting on June 5, the market has welcomed local vendors selling baked goods, jellies and produce to come out to Rick’s Park in Sheffield every Monday from 5 – 6:30 p.m. Last year, the event brought out an average of six vendors per market. This year, the event has been bringing out about four vendors every night.

While the market has seen a small dip in vendor and attendee participation in its second year, Katy Flint, chair of the farmers market, said that is not entirely unexpected, as the event started later in the year last time around.
