Seats up for election on West Fork Board of Education

With the Iowa school election to select school district and community college officers just a few weeks away, three seats are up for re-election on the West Fork Board of Education.

To be decided by vote on September 12 will be one seat in Director District 1 (which is the north part of the West Fork Community School District), one seat in Director District 2 (which is the south part of the district) and one Director At-Large seat. All of the open seats are four-year terms.

Filing to enter the school election ran from July 10-August 3.

Roger Witte is seeking re-election for the Director District 1 position, and is running unopposed.

Mary Schlichting is seeking re-election for the Director District 2 seat. Also running for the position are Eric Reicherts and Amber Marzen.

There are four individuals running for the Director At-Large position: Grant Petersen, Toni Lauffer, Stacy Tompkins and Kevin Zeitler.

The school election will be held on Tuesday, September 12, and polls will be open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. However, polls may be opened at noon unless the county auditor in question receives a petition objecting to the shortened hours.
