Schulz top-10 among boys at Newman

MASON CITY – A combination of talent and hard work led to top finishes for area runners at the annual Mason City Newman cross country invitational on Tuesday, Aug. 29.

IF-A/AGWSR’s Aubrie Fisher used her talents to pull away from the girls’ field and win the varsity individual title in 20 minutes flat, and helped the Cadets take the girls team title, scoring 61 points with teammate Ellie Meyer second and AGWSR’s Haley Bakker as one of the top-20 finishers. ...Meanwhile, Connor Schulz used determination and hard work to finish among the top-10 for West Fork’s boys, which finished seventh in the 11-team field with 151 points.

The Warhawks entered the season ranked 14th in Class 1A by the Iowa High School Track Coaches Association.
