Rockwell Public Library celebrates 100th anniversary

Celebrating 100 years of service, the Rockwell Public Library invited the community to an open house on Saturday.

A steady stream of people visited the library Saturday morning for coffee, snacks and conversation.

"We're not sure how many, but they were coming and going pretty good," said library Director Linda Dunning. "We're very happy."

The history of the Rockwell Public Library goes back to the turn of the 20th Century and the reading habits of the Rockwell Woman's Club.

"The Woman's Club has been very instrumental," said Dunning. "They started loaning books to each other, and then started a library to loan them to other people."
