Rockwell pool receives repairs
Leaking pool, littering fine and new city hire dominate council discussion
Every day, an estimated 1,000 gallons of water leaked from the Rockwell’s Linn Grove swimming pool this summer.
Since its 2010 opening, major repairs have been necessary each summer. City Superintendent Jay Siefken said faulty previous winterization or bad workmanship on pipes could have caused the leak.
A representative from ACCO Unlimited Corporation, a switch from the previously contracted Hawkins Chemical, presented the company’s plan to combat the issues to the Rockwell City Council at the Sept. 16 meeting.
They will cut a section of concrete in the pool floor out to allow room for the company to send a camera through the underground piping in search of the leak.
