Rockwell native marine retires

Colonel Daniel P. Ermer has celebrated his retirement from the United States Marine Corp.

A native of Rockwell and graduate of Newman High School, Ermer was commissioned in December of 1987. Since then, he has enjoyed a 30 year career in the Marine Corps serving various roles including combat engineering, logistics, and acquisitions. He has served in many overseas operations, including Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Operation Silent Assurance, Operation Resolute Response, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Holding a master’s degree in science and arts, Ermer has utilized his education both domestically and overseas, from commanding logistics in California to overseeing the execution of 334 construction projects in Iraq.
