Rockwell City Council Resolves Dispute

The June 19 Rockwell City Council meeting saw the resolution of a debate involving trees planted by Bill and Pat Sheldon along an alley in the community.

At a May meeting, fellow property owner Wanda Kruse requested that the Sheldons move the trees further into their property as they hindered her ability to mow. It was noted by the council at the time that practically everybody that lives on the block had something that encroached into the alley, and that if one person had to move something, everybody would.

Prior to the June 5 meeting, Kruse reported that she had removed her property out of the alley and had offered to take care of the encroaching trees at her cost so that she could back a truck into her back yard.

At the June 19 meeting, Public Works Director Jay Siefken noted that the Sheldons were going to move their trees six feet to the south. “That move will take place right away and will close the book on this debate,” Siefken said.
