Rockwell City Council contributes to bridge fund

ROCKWELL — During its regular meeting Wednesday, Aug. 7, the Rockwell City Council approved contributing $5,000 from the community’s Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) fund for use in helping to replace a bridge on the Linn Grove Country Club golf course.

Janelle Nuehring, a board member of the Country Club, said the bridge was damaged by ice chunks and flooding last spring.

“We will be doing all of the construction ourselves. At this point, we don’t know what the exact final cost will be for the project. We have raised $7,000 in funding for the project so far, and also have a fundraising golf tournament and other projects in the works,” she said.

“We will plan to re-visit this project in one of our upcoming meetings,” said Rockwell Mayor Michael Flatness.
