Rockwell City Council approves budget

The Rockwell City Council met in regular session last Wednesday evening at City Hall.

Four of the five council members — Betty Gauley, Tom Worley, Larry Wentz and Randy Meyer — were on hand, with Councilman Brian Koob participating by telephone.

Also present were Mayor Mike Flatness, City Clerk Lorna Weier, City Employee Tom Hensley (representing the Public Works Department) and Police Chief Rick Whitney.

Budget is approved

The Council approved the City’s budget for the 2020/2021 Fiscal Year by Resolution 2020-8.

NIACOG ordinances

The Council conducted a lengthy discussion regarding the NIACOG ordinance updates dealing with trailer parking in the community.

Following discussion, Meyer moved to propose a change in Ordinance 3-3-31-A TRAILERS. Semi-trailers, livestock trailer and trailers exceeding 15 feet in length shall not be parked on City streets or city right-of-way within the City from Nov. 1 to April 1. The change carried unanimously.
