Re-elected Sheffield City Council members are sworn in

Recently re-elected members of the Sheffield City Council were officially sworn in during Monday night’s monthly meeting.

Reciting the Oath of Office during Monday’s meeting were incumbents Brad Mulford, Jill Peterson and Dave Smit. Incumbent Mayor Scott Sanders, who also recently won re-election, had been sworn in earlier to his post.

Library update

Director Jessica Foreshoe provided the Council with an annual review for the Sheffield Public Library for Fiscal Year 2018-2019.

Among the construction projects completed at the library were finishing the ceiling tile, taking out a tree that was struck by lightning, repairing the sidewalk at the corner and caulking lower windows shut.

A total of 530 books were added, while 7,339 items were circulated. Fines collected were $651.
