Patience pays off for Bearcats

ALLISON — An inning after having the bases loaded and nobody out against Class 1A No. 15 West Fork, North Butler coach Jeff Stirling thought it was only a matter of time before his team broke through.

Turns out, he was right.

The Bearcats were facing the same situation in the fifth inning, but this time it was Alexis Stirling, the coach’s daughter, who worked the count full on the way to coaxing a walk off of Rachael Hubka.

That broke things wide open for North Butler as Kristin Dralle followed it up with a run-scoring single and Alex Mathers scored on a wild pitch.
