Mike Kruger returns to area as West Fork Superintendent

Mike Kruger is excited about returning to the area as Superintendent of the West Fork School District.

Kruger took over the position on July 1.

“During my first few months on the job, I want to learn as much about the district as I can,” he said. “I want to meet with as many students, staff and other stakeholders as I can and from those meetings determine what our priorities need to be moving forward.

“I want to hear what our strengths are as a district as well as well as areas in which we could improve. I want to build on the strengths and work on addressing the areas where improvement needs to take place,” he continued.

Kruger received his education at Westmar College in Le Mars, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education, while also having a reading endorsement as well as a coaching endorsement. He later added an endorsement in Driver Education.

Kruger went back to school at Drake University, earning a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership which allowed him to be a K-12 principal.
