In conjunction with the National Association of Manufacturing’s (NAM) annual “Manufacturing Day” event, students from 10 area schools spent Friday, October 6, visiting Sukup Manufacturing Co. in Sheffield and experiencing aspects of multiple manufacturing careers.

The NAM is the largest manufacturing association in the United States, representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states. Its annual Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing, and is always held on the first Friday in October. The purpose of the day is to highlight issues relevant to manufacturers, including workforce issues and the changing public image of manufacturing.

Sukup Manufacturing Co. has been a part of Manufacturing Day for four years, and has hosted an event for two of them.
