John Bryant, 72, of Coralville, passed away on February 4, 2022 at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Lensing’s Oak Hill in Coralville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Lensing’s Oak Hill. Private interment at Oak Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date.

John was born on March 9, 1949 in Mason City, Iowa to Lawrence and Lucinda (Horstman) Bryant. Following graduation from Sheffield High School in 1969, John attended North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City and received his Associate’s Degree.

John moved to Iowa City in 1970 to accept a job position in the hygienic laboratory department at the University of Iowa. It was there that he met his loving wife, Debbie. The couple were married on June 12, 1976 at the Danforth Chapel.

After 47 years, John retired from the University and was able to spend more time doing the things that he loved. He was an avid billiards player. He enjoyed cats, collecting CB radios and coins, fireworks and spending time with his family; especially his two grandchildren. John was a member of the Sherriff’s Association and the I.S.P.A. (Iowa State Pool Association)

John is survived by his wife, Debbie; two sons: Jason (Cynthia) and Stephen Bryant; grandchildren: Trevor and Lana Bryant; brother, Ray (Beverly) Bryant and nephews: Christopher and Nicholas Bryant. He was preceded in death by his parents.
