Independent U.S. Senate candidate Rick Stewart visits north Iowa

End the War on Drugs, cut ag subsidies and completely blow up America’s immigration policy.

     Those three not-so-subtle talking points were the focus of a campaign visit from Independent U.S. Senate candidate Rick Stewart last Friday. Stewart passed through Hampton on his bicycle, which has been the main mode of transportation for the Cedar Rapids man as he spreads his message across Iowa this fall.

     Stewart, who leans towards the libertarian side of the political spectrum, is running against Democrat Bruce Braley and Republican Joni Ernst in the race to suceed retiring Sen. Tom Harkin.
