Gun discharged in Meservey, resident arrested

A Meservey man was arrested for allegedly discharging a gun within city limits.

On March 19, around 5:30 p.m. the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a gun shot inside the city limits of Meservey, according to a release by the Sheriff’s Office.

Once investigated, deputies discovered that the shot had allegedly come from 238 3rd St, the residence of 60-year-old Kevin Meints.

Meints was subsequently arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within city limits.

The day following the incident, Meints pleaded guilty in Cerro Gordo County Court House and was ordered to pay a $150 fine, according to court documents.
