A call for readers: MercyOne Ambassadors to host used book sale

The MercyOne North Iowa Ambassadors are encouraging people to share their favorite books to help the auxiliary’s causes.

The Ambassadors on Monday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 14, will be collected donated books for its book sale later this month. Candy Moore, Director of Volunteer Services with Mercy- One, said that the auxiliary will take lightly used books in good condition of virtually any genre. Brail and large print books will also be accepted. Book drop off will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days by using the south entrance of the Southbridge Mall. Books are to be brought to the second storefront on the right.

The sale will be May 16 and 17 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 9 a.m. to noon on May 18 at the same location. Most books will be $1 but Moore said volunteers who sort the books will be looking for rare or special editions. Those “fantastic finds” will be displayed on a table for $2.

“On occasion, you’ll come across a book that has a value to it and we will have a couple volunteers keep their eyes open for those,” she said.
