AgVantage FS nearing completion on Chapin facility expansion, upgrades

A significant capital investment from one regional grain company has transformed the tiny Franklin County town of Chapin into a bustling construction zone this summer.

 

AgVantage FS, a Waverly-based grain company with locations throughout the area, started work on extensive upgrades at its Chapin facility last fall. Finishing touches are wrapping up on a new 24,000-ton dry fertilizer plant north of town, and other additions at the company’s grain storage facility are slated for completion around harvest season.

 

The upgrades are part of a large-scale plan to increase storage capacity and improve services for AgVantage FS’s customers in Franklin County and surrounding areas.

 

“I won’t say how much we’ve put into it, but it’s a lot,” said Korey Meinders, agronomy operations manager at AgVantage FS.
