4-H kids present at Iowa State Fair

Franklin County's 4-H kids did more than just show off their prize winning livestock at the Iowa State Fair this year.

Several kids were selected to present a variety of projects and exhibits in Des Moines as part of the communications program.

"We had quite a time deciding which ones to send down to the state fair," said Jacqueline Dohlman, County Youth Coordinator with Franklin County Extension.

Representing Franklin County 4-H this year was Emma Forsyth, Ethan Forsyth, Cassi Mueth, Aden Williams, Avery Williams, Rebekah Craighton, Natalie Dohlman, Paula Jorgensen, Madison Vietor, Miles Rust, Isaac Vosburg, Riviera Nelson, and Claire Smith.

Between all of them, they delivered six educational presentations, four working exhibits, and three fun demonstrations, from presentations on Iowa Government to a dance routine, to an exhibit of clothes pin cars.
